We own and operate approximately 12,090 miles of natural gas and NGL pipelines, with natural gas gathering systems covering approximately 14,400 square miles and 21 natural gas processing plants located primarily in the Permian Basin, Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana regions.
Targa is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant in their Legal Department for their office located in Houston, TX.
Job Responsibilities
Administrative support position for the legal group. This position entails performing a variety of administrative tasks with minimal supervision and exercising independent judgment.
Essential Job Duties/Functions:
- Responsible for daily administration functions, including but not limited to, answering telephones, greeting visitors, distributing mail, and providing back-up to receptionist and other legal dept. staff.
- Assist with preparation of time sensitive materials for legal department, including but not limited to, hand written documents and/or changes for memos, letters, notes, emails and other business correspondence
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and maintain calendars
- Prepare correspondence, as necessary
- Establish and maintain files and record in InSight database
- Process external counsel invoices and maintain in eCounsel database
- Assist with maintenance of corporate minute books and corporate records in Secretariat database
- Prepare/coordinate travel arrangements
- Prepare expense reports and check requests
- Monitor/order and maintain office supplies for the legal department
- Handle scheduling weekly staff meetings, including ordering lunches
- Maintain conference rooms and coffee bar
- Other duties including special projects, as assigned
- The position is unique and the candidate should be flexible in dealing with changing work assignments and priorities as well as have the ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Associate degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years as legal admin assistant or equivalent experience supporting attorneys
- Strong proficient PC skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and Access
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work harmoniously in a team setting
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism
- Ability to prioritize daily work schedule and function with minimum supervision
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail, accuracy of work and timeliness of deliverables
- Able to lift 25 pounds to move files and retrieve information
- Knowledge of eCounsel, InSight and Secretariat databases
