The Compliance Specialist position reports to Compliance Counsel and participates in the management, administration, and implementation of the company's global compliance program.

Primary job responsibilities:
Exercise discretion and independent judgment, including the comparison and the evaluation of possible courses of conduct, and act or make a decision after the various possibilities have been considered as related to investigation and reporting of hotline matters.

Direct, coordinate, and manage Ethics and Compliance Committee activities. This includes being responsible for interacting with our Ethics and Compliance Committees and those responsible for the Ethics and Compliance function around the world, directing them, making sure the processes and functions are operating as planned, etc.

Coordinate the anti-corruption compliance program, including managing due diligence efforts, interfacing with third-party due diligence providers, monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating results, exercising sound judgment with respect to potential additional due diligence, and data reporting to include compiling and making recommendations within the Compliance Specialists' discretion on due diligence activities.

Exercise sound discretion in developing, maintaining, and updating Ethics and Compliance policies and procedures. Interpret Company compliance policies and to respond to inquiries from Company stakeholders to provide sound advice based on a strong foundation of knowledge and familiarity with compliance topics and depth-of-knowledge on specific Company policies.

Maintain awareness and knowledge regarding changes in the law (consulting with the applicable lawyer if necessary) and make updates and amendments to Company compliance policies and procedures as may be necessary.

Develop Ethics and Compliance training programs and materials utilizing knowledge regarding changes in the law and make updates.

Interface with Global Trade Compliance group and update the policies relative to the company's import/export program, as necessary.

Additional duties include

Supporting and managing aspects of certain ethics and compliance projects and programs, including Legal's role with respect to the import and export compliance program;

Continuing with further development and administration of the ethics and compliance intranet site;

Analyzing and reporting ethics and compliance metrics;

Coordination of the compliance risk assessment processes;

Coordination and management of the annual ethics and compliance representation letter process.

Monitoring, researching, analyzing and reporting on notable developments in compliance, including changes in regulations, government investigations, enforcement actions, and industry best practices;

Compiling data and statistics and preparing analytics of metrics for reports to management;

Participating in decision-making regarding training assignments and executing on annual computer based legal/compliance training plan through company learning management system.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree required

Minimum of 5 or more years of direct experience in corporate compliance, including but not limited to required experience with international trade (export/import, sanctions, antiboycott), anticorruption, and/or antitrust.

Knowledge and experience in administration and implementation of corporate compliance and ethics programs

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral)

Ability to analyze and exercise sound judgment with respect to reporting on compliance topics, including the ability to prepare and present clear and concise memoranda, correspondence

Ability to prepare and deliver clear and concise presentations regarding various ethics and compliance topics

Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, manage and prioritize broad assignments across a variety of complex compliance topics

Ability to work independently within broadly defined objectives and to successfully complete projects with minimal supervision to meet deadlines

Ability to represent Legal Department/Ethics & Compliance function by demonstrating sound, good judgment and discretion regarding confidential and sensitive matters

Strong customer service orientation

Ability to easily and effectively communicate with varying levels of management, internal business clients, external customers/vendors and work collaboratively with all levels of employees in all functions

Conscious work ethic and attention to detail

Ability to effectively utilize and communicate with internal employees to quickly learn and apply company policies, procedures, operations and industry practices

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Experience with learning management systems, SharePoint, Articulate, and other similar applications are a plus.
