Scope and Focus of Responsibility:
This professional leads project teams (usually 5â€"15 people), is responsible for the technology used on projects and its implementation, and mentors less-experienced staff in their career development. He or she also influences and collaborates with internal customers and work teams across departments.

Management and Administration
  • leads project teams and complex projects

  • collaborates with managers to determine project budgets, schedules, and resource requirements, and ensures they are met
  • assists with determining departmental budgets and schedules, and helps ensure that they are met
  • builds cost/benefit analyses of design alternatives and collaborates with manager before selecting final design

  • is responsible for identifying efficiencies and reducing costs through adherence and enhancements to project management methodologies, if established for the work team
  • ensures that a project management methodology is followed, if established for the department

  • works with team members to define career development plans and ensures that the resources are available to progress according to the plan
  • may conduct performance reviews, recommend candidates for promotion, and manage performance improvement plans as necessary
  • provides input for compensation evaluations and recommends adjustments for staff

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; OR, if no degree, 8 years of software development experience.

PREFERRED:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 4 years of software development experience, including:
  • 4 years experience developing software in a commercial software development environment using .NET/C# and WCF (Windows Communication Foundation).
  • 2 years experience leading a software development team of two or more people.
  • Experience developing at least one, large scale and complex application for external users.
  • Experience reviewing technical, functional/non-functional specifications, source code and test plans to ensure consistency with design specifications and best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 or 2010.
  • Experience with Microsoft C# and/or C++.
  • Experience reviewing design documents.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple internal teams.
  • Experience with organization, time management, and multi-tasking.
  • Experience communicating effectively orally and in writing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience providing technical leadership to software development team working onshore and offshore that designs, develop highly scalable middle tier/back-office services/systems for a SaaS (Software as a Service) product suite using Microsoft technologies such as .NET 3.5/4.0, C#, WCF (Windows Communication Foundation), Visual Studio 2008/2010, Enterprise Library 3.1 and SQL Server 2005/2008
  • 1 year experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
  • 1 year experience with WPF. (Windows Presentation Foundation)
  • Experience with object oriented design principles and programming techniques and computer science foundation such as memory management and low-level algorithm performance.
  • Experience in applying right industry standards, best practices, frameworks and design patterns
  • Experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer)
  • Experience in designing database schema, indexes, and stored procedures and optimize/tune SQL Server 2005/2008 stored procedures.
  • Experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Cloud computing for a SaaS(Software as a Service) product-line
  • Experience as lead team for timely and quality delivery of user stories using agile development methodologies to defined Service level agreements
