Claims Associate/Risk Management

Location: Houston, Texas

Description: Greystar Management Services, LP is currently interviewing Claims Associate/Risk Management right now, this position will be delegated in Texas. More details about this position opportunity kindly read the description below. Job Summary:
Effective claims administration, to include reporting, monitoring, trending, and the analysis of Workers Compensation, Auto, General Liability! , and Property Damage insurance claims.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of General Liability, Automobile, Workers Compensation and Property claim files from date of notice through resolution to include investigating and evaluation of claims. Responsible for ensuring that best practices claim handling standards are implemented and followed.
Collect, evaluate, and maintain claims data in the department tracking system concerning injuries, claims, workers compensation, and other risk-related data and provide reports on quarterly basis, or as requested.
Administer the Workers Compensation return to work program including preparation and coordination process of light duty job offers.
Evaluate claims data to identify needed loss control interventions and assist with the development of appropriate loss prevention programs. Recognize exceptions as they occur and seek help or resolve problems of varying scope and complexity on own in! itiative.
Manage the administration of claims by monitorin! g the handlers plan including but not limited to interviewing parties involved, collecting and evaluating documentation and securing evidence and protecting chain of custody; to analyze coverage, determine liability, compensability, and damages of claims.
Work with insurance adjuster to assess actual damages associated with a claim. Hold insurance adjusters accountable to investigate, negotiate, and settle claims within personal settlement authority. Render prompt claim service and establish the best possible relationship with all persons involved.
Manage insurance litigation process including assigning attorney, filing and coordination of settlement negotiations, discovery and interrogatories and final resolutions.
Complete annual OSHA records for all communities.

Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and opera! tional processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, property, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor/resident injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).
Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training classes, research and/or subscribing to the internet or other professional publications, or utilizing other appropriate method(s) to obtain business and professional information, and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills, Abiliti! es:
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effect! ively to prepare and explain risk management reporting to board members, senior managers, staff, and internal and external auditors.
Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs in order to complete required reports.
Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percents in order to complete financial records, budgets, and other fiscal reporting information.
Employment history that demonstrates the understanding of insurance principals as they relate to workers compensation, and all lines of insurance applicable to our Company.
College degree in related field, and/or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
