Supply Chain Logistics Engineer [United States]


 

Amazing opportunity for separating or retiring NCO, Warrant or Commissioned Officer to put your logistics skills to director use for a National mission. The Federal Aviation Administration is building its Next Generations Supply Chain, and our company is a part of it. We need a person experienced in logistics information who know how the various DOD, DLA and/or Military Services repair parts and supply chain operates. You will provide knowledge and recommendations to help guide the re engineering of the National Aerospace System (NAS) information system that provides spares and repair for radars, control towers, and other infrastructure across the US. This is a thinking, planning, and designing position - very little field work, if any. You must have 10 years of direct work in one or more of the Defense or Military Services logistics activities. You must provide examples of work you have done in writing, diagrams, or coding, that shows you can think and communicate about big systems, how they connect, how they flow, and how they get parts to the end user.

This is a full-time position (>30 hrs./wk) with good benefits, working from home anywhere within the US. Hiring preference to 1) living in the DC Metro area and available to travel occasional to the Washington DC HQ, 2) 4 year degree or certifications in logistics or related fields, 3) any software coding skills that will help guide the software engineering of the logistics information systems. There is possibility to work part-time min 16 hours/week, depending on skills and availability, for those individuals who are semi-retired or desire less than a full-time work arrangement.

We do not need primary skills as a software designer, or a pilot, or a repair technician, because we have people on staff. This is a non-supervisory position. This is a long-term position on a joint Industry/Government team. Fully funded. Hire dates are within 4-12 weeks.

You must pass a Public Trust background check, which is generally easy to qualify for with a satisfactory work record. But you may be disqualified of you have a record of illegal drug use, felony convictions, or poor credit score. A DoD security clearance is not required. You must agree to a pre-employment credit check, drug-screen, and a reference check. We give hiring preference to veterans of the US Armed Forces.
