Oversees budgeting, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, HR, employee benefit plans, and the fixed asset management. Ensures that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and company procedures. Assigns, directs, and appraises the accounting and HR staff.

Manages: The Accounting and HR/Payroll Staff members Interacts within the company : Al! l offices within the Americas Finance, HR, IT, and legal offic! es in Corp. Europe EXTERNAL LINKS Vendors, Forwarders, and GSA s Banks, CASS, and financial institutions Attorneys and legal representatives Insurance representatives and insurance brokers Governmental and Tax Authorities SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures that accounting plans, policies are consistent with established company-wide guidelines Supervises the development of financial information and control systems, including general ledger, budgeting, and other subsystems Oversees the preparation of daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements and reports. Ensures that external document submissions and filings are accurate and timely Coordinates tax reporting requirements. Works with external accountants to file the federal, state, and other tax returns Oversees the preparation and filing of payroll taxes, and required annual reports Prepares and monitors the cost, personnel, and investment budgets Coordinates & performs station financial reviews.
Ensures that accounting records and reports are in compliance with company procedures and government regulations Conducts cost analysis, ratio, and other comparative examinations as needed Performs credit worthiness evaluations on clients and suppliers Ensures that all employees in the accounting department are well informed of accounting policies, procedures, and regulations. Facilitates consistency at all levels of accounting operations Ensures appropriate levels of confidentiality regarding company operations and HR matters Oversees hiring and assess staffing requirements for the accounting department Trains, directs, and coordinates personnel within the accounting department provide assistance and support as needed Conducts performance appraisals for the accounting and HR staff Reviews and processes the insurance policies, and coordinates the issuance of bank guarantees with European Corp Office Monitors the opening and the closing of bank accounts Special projects a! s assigned by Department Heads Task responsibilities Bank signature aut! horization Co-trustee for employees 401k fund Credit authorization Payment approval for certain expenses People responsibility Americas Accounting & HR staff members Direct reports in Houston Supervise a staff of 15-20 in Multiple Locations, Domestic and International Budget planning The position holder plans the cost, invest, and manpower budgets for Americas finance & Accounting Coordinates with the VP the planning for the Area s regions Revenue and cost control responsibility The position holder monitors the area s cost, investment, and personnel budget Strategic responsibility Safeguard Americas financial interest Job Requirements: CPA, Four year degree or MBA , Biligual Spanish all preferred skills, but not required. International Accountancy Knowledge highly desired Tranportation experience preferred;Intergrator, NVOCC, Forwarder, Airline. Client will consider a strong candiate willing to relocate to Houston.
