Essential Job Functions:
1. Under direction of the BEDI Council Coordinator, assists BEDI Advisory Council in planning and organizing diversity and inclusion focused trainings, workshops and seminars to accommodate a wide variety of diverse group dialogues with education-centered activities.
2. Assists BEDI Council Coordinator with the development and coordination of new BEDI initiatives and learning experiences for faculty, staff, and students to support awareness and reflect institutional commitment to BEDI.
3. Leads, coordinates, and/or provides organizational support for activities, functions and programs within NSU, across academic and administrative units, as well as between NSU and external contacts to ensure efficient operations / events in support of BEDI initiatives.
4. Assists with communicating and publicizing the progress of the council, in conjunction with council leadership team, to information staff, faculty, senior leadership and policy. help
5. In conjunction with BEDI Council leadership team, assists with the planning and implementation of the BEDI Strategic Plan and contribute to the advancement of the BEDI Strategic Plan goals and objectives.
6. Plans and distributes meeting agendas, arranges and records virtual meetings, maintains communication with council members regarding assignments, deliverables, and other pertinent information.
7. Oversees logistics for events including room assignments, catering, coordinating on-campus marketing, collaborating with centers across campus as necessary, etc.
8. Processes purchase orders, invoices, payments, and reimbursements for BEDI account purchases.
9. Maintains membership roster, oversees council member assignments/reassignments to committee.
10. Ensures compliance with internal polices and external diversity regulations.
11. Responds to inquiries requiring in-depth understanding of work-area policies and procedures and resolves complex problems to ensure questions are answered and issues resolved timely.
12. Reviews data and follows up on discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
13. Enters data and generates reports from NSU specific software systems to ensure accurate processing and record-keeping.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.
3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Major (if required):

Required Experience:
High school diploma and four (4) years of administrative experience, and/or coordinating various projects in an office environment.

Associate’s degree and three (3) years of administrative experience, and/or coordinating various projects in an office environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree and (2) years of administrative experience, and/or coordinating various projects in an office environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Related experience in the DEIB field.
