The Dallas Division of David Weekley Homes is expanding our Land Department and we’re offering confidential consideration to qualified candidates interested in this opportunity.

The successful can! didate will have a minimum of two years experience in residential land development or significant Land Brokerage experience with strong relationships already developed in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, finance or real estate is preferred.

Key Accountabilities and objectives : (Includes the following and other duties that may be assigned)

  • Works with and supports the Land Development Department as well as Area and Division
Presidents in the identification, evaluation and development of new

residential communities

  • Prepares budgets, evaluates bids and conducts financial analysis, as needed
  • Conducts market research
  • Participate in site sel! ection, due diligence review, underwriting, and approvals for ! proposed
new land acquisitions for the development of residential homes

  • Interact, manage and oversee the efforts of outside parties (engineers, land owners, real
estates brokers, attorneys, contractors, architects, homebuilders, planners,

contractors, city representatives, joint venture partners) as needed

  • Manage and oversee the development of residential lots from acquisition to lot delivery in
new communities

  • Making evaluations, and proforma analysis, of how the land opportunity “fits” with our
strategy

  • Assist with processing and execution of contracts, agreements, amendments, and due
diligence items

  • Acquire developed single family lots, and attached residential lots, suitable for DWH needs
to build homes

  • Review each lot deal presented to the company for possible fit to our product
  • Network with developer base for new potential land/lot opportunities
  • Physically visit each new presented opportunity and evaluate how this opportunity fits with
DWH business plan

  • Make recommendations to management regarding which land opportunities to purchase
  • Manage current lot takedowns and projections
  • Maintain a high level of visibility in the home building business, actively participating in the
community, civic and business organizations pertinent to the industry

  • Interact with HST land department, Area President, Division Presidents, Project Managers
to communicate business terms of land deals, competitive opportunities
