Safety Administrator

Location: Deer Park, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to assist the QA and Safety departments in whatever areas are needed. This can range from answering telephones to assuring that documentation a customer has requested on an order is completed, correct and shipped with the order.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES â€" Quality

  • Handle certified valve and parts orders through the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain certified and non-certified material test reports. This includes retrieving proper MTR for material that needs upgrading and contacting vendors for specific paperwork.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to quality problems identified through designated channels (Including customer communication, NCR’s/FPR logs and other quality measurement tools.
  • Assist with certification, inspection, auditing and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • ! Train, maintain records, test and certify all qualified audito! rs annually.
  • Researches and writes and/or revises written work instructions (procedures) for all departments
  • Maintain ISO internal audit schedule, distribution of audits, follow-up to ensure on-time completion and typing of completed audits.
  • Log and maintain records of all NCR’s, FPR’s, and customer surveys.
  • Maintain, modify and initiate SPP and HSPP ISO procedures.
  • Maintain records of ISO procedure training.
  • Update graphs of monthly error reports for NCR’s, Order Entry, FPR’s, Final Inspections, etc.
  • Maintain Plant Standards Manual- make changes and distributions as required.
  • Record and maintain minutes of all QA and Management Review meetings.
  • Assist all Mangers in special projects as needed.
  • General secretarial duties: distribution of manufacturing paperwork to the proper QA area, documentation, copying, filing, and front desk reception coverage, etc.
PRINCIPLE AC! COUNTABILITIES â€" Safety

  • Set up employees for safety training outside facility (HASC, ITC, etc.)
  • Set up employees to receive or renew TWIC cards.
  • Work with Managers and Team Leads to implement “best practices” as part of the safety program.
  • Assist District Safety Manager in safety audits annually.
  • Maintain records of employee safety training.
  • Maintain monthly accountability report and Corporate safety audit report sent to Corporate monthly (Safety hours, new hires, safety training etc.)
  • Conduct monthly walk through in shop.
  • Maintain all permits and certifications for facility, Storm Water, Radiation, etc.
  • Review and perform training with employees on Flowserve Safety Procedures (Emergency Response Plan, LOTO, etc.)
  • Enter all safety incidents into database, work with managers and others in implementing corrective actions.
  • Keep and post annual OSHA logs as required! by State.
  • Setup and send employees out for drug testing throu! gh DISA.
  • Complete New Hire Safety Orientation.

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • (HS Diploma/GED minimally required)
REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
