More details about this career opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. The Dallas City Attorney’s Office seeks an attorney for its criminal law and police liaison section. The successful candidate must possess the ambition, initiative and work habits to provide advice and consult with Dallas Police personnel daily on legal issues concerning police operations. The candidate must have the knowledge, ability and high energy to timely perform legal research; to draft legal opinio! ns, correspondence and police bulletins involving police matte! rs; to prepare pleadings; to review and respond to subpoenas and open records request involving police matters; and possess knowledge of court rules and applicable laws. Further, the candidate must be able to conduct training on the constitutional and criminal laws for police recruits, attend and recommend appropriate action for Magistrate hearings in property disputes, attend and argue before state civil and criminal court on subpoena requests for police matters, attend and assist with advisory boards associated with police matters, and attend various police staff meeting to advise on police matters.
