The primar! y purpose of this position is to operate one or more types of gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicle typically with a gross vehicle weight (GVW)of more than 26,000 and up to 32,000 pounds or capable of carrying 16 or more passengers regardless of (GVW). Drives one or more types of heavy vehicles, such as platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, trash/garbage trucks, or dump trucks, which are typically equipped air brakes

Drives one or more types of buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers. Drives predetermined and/or scheduled routes or special runs.
Performs operator maintenance such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation

Maintains records and documents actions, such as operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports. Utilizes safe practices and procedures followi! ng established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
THE HOURLY PAY RATE OF THIS POSITION IS: $16.75-$19.54

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas

1.
Knowledge of operating one or more gasoline, diesel or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of more than 26,000 and up to 32,000 pounds such as platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, trash/garbage trucks, or dump trucks. Also includes operation of buses capable of carrying over 16 passengers.
2.
Knowledge of cargo handling and hauling and techniques for safeguarding and protecting cargo.
3.
Knowledge of traffic can safety regulations, practices, and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle operation, and passenger safety rules including those regarding the use of seatbelts.
4.
Ability to judge, road/traffic conditions and road maps to determine the s! hortest and safest route.
5.
Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, ect. related to motor vehicle operation, power take-off unit operation, and preventive maintenance
6.
Ability to meet pickup and delivery deadlines and schedules.
Physical Effort
Physical effort is moderate to heavy. Work requires reaching, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Associated duties require stooping, bending and climbing. Lifts and carries objects weight up to 40 pounds and heavier objects with assistance.
Working Conditions
Drivers work mostly outside and operate vehicles in all kinds of traffic and weather on public roads (or equivalent), and are exposed to the danger of serious accidents. Drives are exposed to dirt, fumes, and to the possible of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents when loading and unloading the vehicles, they drive in heavy traffi! c and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems. !
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
:

An appropriate, valid driverÂ's license is required for the position
2.
Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth
3.
The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evening, weekends, and/or holidays
4.
Shift work may be required
5.
May operate a fork lift on a non-recurring or incidental basis
6.
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
