Description: County of El Paso, TX is hiring COURT CLERK- COUNTY CLERKS right now, this vacancy will be designated in Texas. Detailed specification about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. High school diploma or equivalent and two years of office clerical experience. Knowledge of the court system. Knowledge of legal terminology. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. A! bility to operate a personal computer and various software applications. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, superiors, judges, attorneys, other legal staff, law enforcement personnel, other public agencies and the general public. May be required to lift and/or carry supplies, materials, equipment and/or items weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires 45 words per minute.

Typical Duties:
Participates in creating civil, criminal and probate files; performs data entry of minutes, filing and file control. Prepares court docket; retrieves, organizes and prepares case files prior to submission to courts and hearings.

Computes court costs and fees according to court dispositions and judgements.

Attends court proceedings; participates with arraignments, jail pleas, dispositions, and judgements.
Prepares requests, subpoenas, abstracts, orders of sales, ex! ecutions, citations and related legal documents.

Responds to telephones and personal requests for information or responses to questions.

Researches information on case files, collections, judgements, cash bonds, status of cases as requested.

Conducts criminal searches for customers and agencies; prepares certified copies and disposition letters as needed.

Files, sorts and close case files; performs data entry of files and other legal documentation into an automated data base.

Collect civil court costs on bond forfeiture cases.

Collects proper fees for filings of cases, writs, executions, subpoenas and related documents.

Performs related work as required.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, prepares, files and maintains all civil, criminal and probate legal documentation for a specific court and judge.
