The Vendor Relations Clerk II will be responsible for transmitting and receiving information and maintaining relationships with the third party collection agencies and outside attorneys used by GM Financi! al to collect deficiency balances on accounts. This team member will have contact with other company departments as well as the collection agencies and outside attorneys. Detailed Description
JOB DUTIES Handle all correspondence and communication from collection agencies and outside attorneys regarding company accounts assigned to them. Monitor fees being deducted and paid to collection agencies to ensure compliance with contractual agreements. Handle rerouting of accounts returned by the collection agencies. Handle correspondence and communication from customers whose accounts have been assigned to collections agencies and outside attorneys. Monitor direct payment activity on accounts assigned to collection agencies and outside attorneys and timely communicate such information to the same.
OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES Assist and complete special advanced projects related to Special Accounts. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Attend training sessions! .

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP Reports to: Vendor Re! lations Manager Direct Reports: None Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Thorough understanding of the collection policies and procedures and familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Act.

Skills Accurate typing and data entry skills, and proficiency with 10-key calculator. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to make independent decisions within the scope of the position. Proficiency with various Bankruptcy computer systems. Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Experience Previous collections or bankruptcy experience. High school diploma or equivalent required.

WORK CONDITIONS
Normal office environment, subject to stressful situations. Occasional overtime may be required.
