Records, labels, and maintains evidence received.
Maintains security of the files and checking out! to office personnel as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Determines case dispositions and archiving evidence files upon final disposition.
Assists law enforcement with evidence destruction requests.
Downloads, stores, extracts and burns to disc video from law enforcement agencies.
Copies, redacts, and converts video and audio files.
Assists prosecutor and/or investigator in developing court presentations by redacting and/or converting video into usable clips.
Determines what evidence can be presented in court and constructs trial exhibits using technology such as PowerPoint.
Requests evidence from law enforcement agencies in response to discovery requests.
Prepares written reports of evidence destruction lists.
Instructs/trains on standard procedures for receiving, storing, entering, and file creation.
Exercises time management skills & prioritizes tasks appropriately to allow for timely completion of job duties.
Commu! nicates with internal staff, law enforcement agencies, attorne! ys and other officials.
Maintains confidentiality and security of records and information.
Cross-trained with Evidence Coordinator.
Readily complies with departmental and county-wide policies and procedures.
Performs related special projects as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, telephone usage, typing, filing, making copies, standing, communicating reaching, walking, twisting, bending, repetitive motions, and standing in the performance of daily activities.
Continual work at a computer keyboard.
Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally with assistance and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS :
Work is primarily indoors in a! n air-conditioned, smoke free office.
Williamson County has adopted a Tobacco-Free Workplace policy. This policy prohibits smoking or use of any tobacco product on Williamson County premises. Williamson County and Cities Health District offers free smoking cessation programs to employees and spouses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Education and experience equivalent to six (6) months of records management, inventory control or related field in the performance of similar duties.
Strong organizational skills and proven ability to maintain accurate, detailed records
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Ability to learn new programs and technologies
Ability to type and enter data with appropriate speed and efficiency.
Obtain a valid Texas driver’s license within 30 days of hire
Must maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
EMPLOYMENT TESTING :
Employment is contingent on passing post-offer, pre-employment ! criminal background investigations.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS :
Prior experience in a legal environment.
Fifteen (15) hours of college leave course work in Criminal Justice, Computer Science or related field.
IRREGULAR HOURS :
Non-Essential Personnel for Emergency Situations; unless employees are designated by Department Heads or employees are in other offices that are open.
