SALARY/PAY RATE: $18 an hour, paid bi-weekly

Essential Job Functions
The Building & Safety Attendant maintains Depaul USA?s Casa Milagrosa premises from 7 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday. The Building & Safety Attendant works with Casa Milagrosa?s staff to provide quality customer service to our program participants. The Building & Safety Attendant maintains high visibility and monitors for inappropriate actions by our guests. The Building and Safety Attendant provides minor day-to-day building maintenance to ensure the facility's daily operation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
? Maintains Depaul USA's property and provides high visibility in the interior and exterior of the building
? Watches for signs of disturbance and reports to management any incident.
? Maintains good relationships with participants, volunteers, and community members
? Uses verbal de-escalation skills to reduce conflict among participants
? Assists the team in providing services and directing participants
? Takes accurate notes of unusual occurrences and incidents
? Reports to management any suspicious incidents and disturbances
? Walks around randomly and regularly in and around the building checking for any irregularities.
? Monitors and controls access to building and parking area
? Watches/operates all electronic devices, such as our video system, and assists with camera playback in case of emergency
? Assist with minor building maintenance, such as graffiti removal and minor handyman tasks.
? Attends mental health training, first aid/CPR classes, and other training sessions as requested by the Director
? Other duties, as requested by Supervisor, that may not be listed here
Qualifications
? High School Diploma/GED
Requirements
? Prior Security guard experience a plus.
? Ability to operate video systems and emergency equipment
? Knowledge of public safety and security procedure/protocols
? Ability to assist in emergency
? Experience or relevant experience in building maintenance
? Able to use de-escalation techniques and critical thinking
? Frequent walking and standing, sitting, stooping or kneeling. Must be able to frequently move or lift up to 50 pounds
? Must maintain a high degree of integrity and professionalism at all times
? Fluency in Spanish is highly desired
Work Schedule:
In person from 161 S. Alvarado St. Los Angeles, CA. Regular Business Hours M-F 7 am-3 pm PST.
