This is a multi-faceted position best suited for a technically strong mechanical or facilities engineer with either prior management experience or extensive ! experience as a lead engineer on large projects. The Facilities & Mechanical Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and growing a team of 10+ engineers as well as a team of designers.
The Facilities & Mechanical Engineering Manager will be responsible for handling personnel administration, leading their team technically, will also be asked to perform engineering work on offshore and onshore projects, and may be asked to work as a project manager on occasion. Primary Responsibilities:
Generally responsible for the technical quality of mechanical engineering products produced by M&H, whether working directly on the project or not. Should be involved with mechanical engineering project execution on a high level and ensure that that engineering and design is being performed properly. Will work on engineering projects and occasionally be responsible for managing projects. Assist with proposal development to develop discipline scopes of work and budgets. Interface and communicate with client counterparts. Provide technical expertise and leadership to the facilities and mechanical engineering team. Communicate across departments and promote cross-department communication and cooperation. Communicate with personnel and customers to ensure that customers receive high quality service. Manage workloads, ! while constantly monitoring and changing priorities. Allocate staffing resources to meet needs of projects. Provide individual performance feedback as well as development. Should have a focus to grow team skill sets, effectiveness, and support the M&H Mission Statement.
Requirements:
Currently authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship Bachelor of Science in Engineering P.E. license preferred Minimum of 15 years of experience in facilities and mechanical engineering in the oil & gas industry. 20+ years of experience preferred. Must have extensive hands-on mechanical engineering experience with upstream and midstream oil & gas projects both offshore and onshore. Examples of desired project/facility experience listed below: Onshore and Offshore Production Facilities Topsides Compressor Stations Meter Stations Onshore and Offshore Pipelines Other related onshore and/or offshore upstream projects Significant experience coord! inating and leading teams to provide multi-discipline engineering servi! ces. Prior experience leading both engineers and designers preferred. Well versed with applicable codes with the ability to judge the quality of engineering document Ability to administer daily personnel management tasks such as managing workloads, project assignments, training, reviewing time sheets. Ability to effectively monitor and review products Ability to effectively monitor and assign workloads Excellent leadership skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization PMP or other project management certification is helpful Willingness to train and mentor engineers Strong customer focus, strong drive toward quality
