Job Purpose and Mandate: The Patent Administrator is responsible for delivering timely and accurate patent prosecution administrative support for Conversant’s Patent Prosecution Departmen! t.
Duties:
Docketing assigned patent prosecution tasks in database and providing timely reminders
Assisting Attorney with tracking and outlining tasks to ensure responses are filed timely.
Corresponding with other groups in organization regarding new office actions and providing reports, as needed
Filing in-house patent applications in the USPTO, and WIPO, electronically and on paper
Formatting and filing responses to the Examination reports in the USPTO
Preparing various legal documents that are required for filing and prosecuting of patent applications in various Patent Offices
Tracking and processing assigned patent maintenance fees
Tracking and processing assigned patent prosecution costs
Generating various reports from patent docketing database
Processing assigned patent incentive forms and liaising with payroll regarding assigned patent payments
Maintaining pa! tent prosecution files, both electronic and physical
! Drafting letters, faxes and emails
Coordinating correspondence with external law firms and foreign associates in various countries
Providing litigation administrative support, as required
Participating in special projects related to patent matters, as required
Any other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Associate’s Degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of patent paralegalrelated experience in an Intellectual Property law environment
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as a contributing team member
Experience with all Microsoft Office programs
Working knowledge of patent database applications
Experience using the Internet and email applications
Detail-oriented and accuracy skills
Job Assets:
Solid understanding of the patent ! system worldwide
Experience working in an Intellectual Property law firm environment
Advanced level knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and patent docketing database Pattsy Wave
Experience with Lotus Notes
