The Bankruptcy Manager reviews, monitors and directs Bankruptcy processes, ensuring company policies and procedures, as well as State an! d Federal laws, are followed on pre and post charge off accounts, including but not limited to all Chapter -13, Chapter 11, and Chapter â€" 7 Bankruptcy accounts. This team member has contact with customers, other departments and outside agencies and/or 3rd parties.
Essential Functions:
Serve as liaison between Santander and outside agencies, attorneys, and Trustees.
Supervise and evaluate assigned team members ensuring performance standards are met.
Determine repossessions on qualified Bankruptcy accounts.
Promote a cooperative and productive work environment.
Provide training and motivation to team members, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Bankruptcy Code.
Monitor team member customer calls for training purposes.
Actively participate in report development.
Maintain all Policy and Procedure manuals.
Other Functions:
Periodically audit accounts for accuracy and timely up! dates by the associates.
Interview and recommend for hire prospective employees.
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Requirements:
College degree preferred; Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Three (3) to five (5) years experience within financial services; sub-prime auto industry and bankruptcy experience strongly preferred.
Must have advanced understanding of loss prevention and collection policies and procedures and be familiar with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
Excellent organizational skills.
PC/Windows skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Three (3) to Five (5) years Supervisor/Management Experience.
Ability to make decisions and use good judgment in relation to the handling of customers and supervision of team members.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Working Conditions:
Extended working hours may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
Travel to multiple facilities may be required.
