General Counsel (Contracts)

Location: Sugar Land, Texas

Description: WorleyParsons Group is at present looking to employ General Counsel (Contracts) right now, this occupation will be ordered in Texas. More details about this occupation opportunity please read the description below. Job Description:
Contracts Attorney â€" this individual should be capable
of drafting modifications to existing contracts, of
negotiating contract terms and co! nditions, of writing
exhibits to contracts, of analyzing contractor proposals
for compliance with existing contract term, and similar
such work. The individual should be capable of producing
high quality work products with minimal guidance. This
will initially be a short term position, starting
immediately through approximately March 2014. There is a
fair chance of extension for up to six months
thereafter.
Negotiates the most significant contracts or contract
modifications, often under difficult conditions. Draws
upon a depth of prior experience and technical skills to
interface effectively with prospective and current
customers for the most favorable terms and conditions.
Understands and applies Company policies and procedures.
Identifies risks and terms which may not conform to
Company policy and goals.
Participates in Company management strategic planning
for specific projects, i.e., risk assessment! , bid/no bid
analysis, business plan. Selects personnel, m! akes
staffing assignments, supervises work produced to ensure
consistent high quality performance.
Provides training and development for the personnel
assigned; administers the merit budget for the
department. Establishes and maintains a resource library
of materials useful to the issues Contract
Administrators face.

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in related field or applicable
discipline, or equivalent or relevant experience. 12
to 15 years of relevant experience including
technical and supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Manages work directly or indirectly through
Managers. Manages multiple functional disciplines.
Develops and oversees implementation of strategic
programs and policies for their groups, which will
have impact on the overall organization. Ability to
manage multiple complex projects through others.
Works frequently with executive managemen! t on
significant matters influencing the organization's
business results, which typically include global
strategies.
  • Ability to visualize and oversee the design of new
concepts and ideas related to the broader
organization as well as functional area of expertise
and ; Broad knowledge of business operations and
ability to implement and lead organizational change
effectively; Solutions are derived from interpreted
and applied general information and consultation
with other individuals. The ability to effectively
communicate and present complex program proposals
and reports to executive level management and/or the
Board is critical. Ability to persuade and influence
others is critical. Participative management style
with a cooperative team approach. Proven leadership
skills in multi-cultural and possibly multi-national
environments.
  • Commitment to customer service and ability to! work
in a team-oriented environment.
  • General c! haracterized as a manager with seasoned
technical knowledge. Manages and directs through
mid-level and senior level managers or first level
directors.
  • Typically will interface with lower level
personnel, executive management, customers, and
outside vendors.
