Detailed Description
- Provide legal advice and services to Company’s midstream affiliate
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of agreements for all type s of products, including gas, crude oil, produced water and fresh water, such as gathering agreements, processing agreements, transportation agreements, construction agreements and procurement of goods/services agreements
- General knowledge of FERC regulations
- Develop legal strategies for various midstream projects and advise operations staff regarding compliance with contracts, laws and internal authorizations
- Represents the Company in industry or community affairs
- Provides input for budget planning
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Legal Department management
- Provide training on various regulatory compliance matters
- J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Typically requires 4 or more years of legal experience, preferably midstream experience relevant to Company’s business operations
- Licensed to practice law in a U.S. jurisdict ion and be in good standing
- Experience in oil and gas exploration and production preferred
- Prior law firm experience is preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle substantial work volume in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills
**Decision-Making Authority/Knowledge
Responsible for the legal risk assessment applicable to any particular lawsuit or claim.
**Working Conditions
Normal office environment with some business travel.
