Overview of the role
Nyrstar Port Pirie are seeking a Technical Assistant to join the on-site Laboratory team.
Have you successfully completed and passed year 12 chemistry or a similar science subject? Are you looking for a new career opportunity?
You will be responsible for performing chemical and instrumental analysis on samples, with a quick and accurate turnover to meet customer requirements, all whilst adhering to site procedures and the Laboratory Quality Manual. If you have a keen eye for detail, this role is for you!
This is a 6 month contract, working 12 hour day/night shifts on a 4 on/4 off 4 off roster. This role provides a great balance between work and play, all while getting your foot in the door to build a career with one of Port Pirie’s largest businesses.
Do you have the additional requisites of:
Essential
- Experience with Microsoft suite of programs
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality
- Good organisation and time management skills
Desirable
- Studied and completed year 12 chemistry or similar science subject
- A certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or similar
- Experience in a laboratory environment
- A sound understanding of laboratory quality systems; and familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (Labware)
