Labor Law Counsel Under the direction of the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, the selected candidate will handle or assist in handling diverse, complex, and challenging matters for several of our business lines, which include Janitorial, Security, Parking, and Facility Services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide legal advice and consultation to operational personnel. Conduct legal research on projects and write on specific issues. Assist in performing due diligence and related responsibilities as needed. Travel throughout U.S. to represent company in legal matters. Advice and counsel on matters related to unions, grievance, and arbitration. Other duties or legal support as required. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications! :
Working and negotiating collective bargaining agreements! NLRB experience Traditional Labor Law experience, including advice and counsel to unionized employers, grievance and arbitration work, and practice before the National Labor Relations Board. Minimum seven years active practice, which includes significant time working at a private law firm. Licensed to Practice law in the state of Texas, or licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and qualified to provide in-house legal services pursuant to the requirements of Rule XIII of the “Rules Governing Admission to the Bar of Texas.” Graduate from an ABA accredited law school. Active, front-line litigation experience which includes court appearances, legal research and persuasive writing, and developing/ implementing litigation strategy. Extensive direct client contact, including collaboration on proactive, cost-effective legal solutions. Basic experience representing clients in commercial disputes (desirable) High proficiency with electronic legal research. Comfortable with techno! logy in general. Proficient in MS Office Applications. Must be able to travel throughout U.S. as needed for trips lasting 2 to 5 business days.
