The Senior Project Engineer will direct the engineering design activities related to Oilfield (BPU) product lines, as well as, accountable for the engineering performa! nce and functionality of the finished product.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct and coordinate design efforts.
Act as a liaison to other departments in the division to provide the impetus for procurement, production, testing, and marketing.
Serve as an expert witness in legal matters and/or provide technical information to company’s attorneys.
Stay up-to-date about government and API regulations and agencies so that all designs are in compliance.
Evaluate purchased components which may enhance the Machinery Division product line and LUFKIN’s competitive advantage in the industry. Investigate more efficient and cost-effective ways to manufacture components.
Work closely with the sales department to improve marketing efforts and with the service department to take necessary corrective and/or improvement measures.
Supervise project engineers to maintain high standards of professionalism and performa! nce. Coordinate activities concerned with technical developmen! ts, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
6-8 years’ of engineering management experience.
Effective organizational and managerial skills acquired through professional development programs and experience.
Superior interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deliver technical papers, conduct a seminar, and present information to management, clients, and the general public.
