The Trademark Docketing Specialist is responsible for handling docketing and document management functions related to all Trademark prosecution and litigation matters. The Trademark Docketing Specialist handles the docketing of inbound, outbound and internal communications. The Trademark Docketing Specialist works closely with the Trademark Paralegal, his/her supervisor, and team members to provide consistent high quality service to both colleagues and clients. The Trademark Docketing Specialist provides back-up to team members when necessary.
- Review an! d docket inbound, outbound and internal communications in conn! ection with all TM prosecution matters. Create new records as needed in internal database. Determine timelines to prioritize documents; forward pertinent correspondence to appropriate attorneys or paralegals.
- Process original paper mail and electronically report out digital versions of mail to assigned personnel as required.
- Ensure the integrity of the Trademark prosecution and litigation database by performing quality review of docketed actions, by creating new records and updating new actions in a timely manner, and by entering, monitoring and clearing deadlines in a timely manner.
- Maintain up to date data on internal and external contacts in the Trademark prosecution database and assist in reassignment of matters to internal personnel as needed.
- Review routine audit reports and make corrections or updates to Trademark prosecution and litigation database as needed.
- Prepare reports and assist other department staff in the preparation! of reports.
- Assist with client and firm projects as needed. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- At least three years docketing experience requred
- Experience with CPI is a plus
- Excellent communication, oral, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and a demonstrable ability to learn any department specific software
- Able to maintain confidentiality in all client and firm matters
- Able to interact effectively with all levels of personnel
