- Reviewing charge files and recommending the initiation of litigation;
- Filing petitions for compliance with administrative subpoenas;
- Seeking temporary injunctive relief;
- Filing motions to obtain compliance with court orders, decrees, and pre-suit settlement agreements;
- Prosecuting cases to ensure consistency w ith EEOC litigation policies and judicial precedents;
- Conducting discovery for litigation in federal court;
- Preparing and presenting motions, responses and oral arguments to the courts;
- Preparing pretrial and post-trial briefs and materials;
- Conducting all facets of trials in federal courts; and
- Providing formal and informal legal advice and memoranda to agency personnel.

Qualifications
1. All candidates must have earned their first professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.), must be a member of the BAR and one year of related legal experience OR law student work/academic excellence.

In addition to the basic requirements described above, you must have at least two years of professional legal experience as demonstrated by engaging in t he practice of law in a substantive area of the Agency's enforcement, related civil rights litigation, or general litigation in federal and/or state courts.
NOTE: An advance law degree such as LLM or a JSD may substitute for one year of the required professional legal experience identified above.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.Education

The EEOC is charged w ith the enforcement of federal laws against employment discrimination including, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (as amended), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Equal Pay Act (EPA) and the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA).
Responsibilities
As a Trial Attorney, you will have the full range of responsibilities for preparing and litigating employment discrimination cases under all of the federal statues enforced by the EEOC.
