Accounts Payable Clerk - Temp [United States]


 

Prepares and processes payments accurately and on time for amounts owed by the company. Reviews and verifies all purchase orders, statements, and invoices needed to prepare payments. Reconciles bills and balances accounts. Identifies and resolves any discrepancies to an account. Tracks all payment and transaction records using applicable systems. May maintain vendor files. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.

" prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
" prepare and perform check runs
" post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
" reconcile accounts payable transactions
" prepare analysis of accounts
" monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
" research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
" maintain vendor files
" correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
" produce monthly reports
" assist with month end closing
" provide supporting documentation for audits

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training. Accounting courses desired. Require experience in accounts payable and general understanding of basic bookkeeping procedures.

Computer skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel. Costpoint experience a plus.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $25.00/hour min to $37.00/hour max.
