US Houston Manager Global Claims The candidate mitigates exposure to risk by designing, implementing and supervising all property! , casualty and financial products claims-related activities. Ensures that industry leading processes are utilized to drive effective cost control. Ensures compliance with statutory requirements in the delivery of claims services. Manages serious/high exposure claims and works with Law Department, TPA, Operations, and insurance broker to develop and implement resolution strategies. Evaluates serious/high exposure claims to determine appropriate initial financial reserves and reserve changes until claim resolution. Identifies claims that trigger reporting requirements to primary/excess carriers. Ensure appropriate reporting. Exercises judgment to authorize settlement of claims within authority level; present evaluations and recommendations for settlement where higher authority required. Ensures that internal policies and practices for claims reporting and claims management are followed. Develops key performance indicators and evaluates the performance and outcomes of the thir! d-party claims administration program. Reviews incoming incide! nt notices and loss data to determine appropriate responses, determine trends, and identify high exposure cases. Reviews correspondence and pleadings on litigated claims to ensure appropriate communication with business leaders and insurers. Manages the preparation of benchmarking reports, large loss summaries, analysis of results, and provide focused communication to senior management as indicated by those results. Provides training on Claims Reporting and Claims Management procedures to HSE, Law Department and Operations. Supervises internal staff of 3 5 as well on-site TPA staff of 10.
The candidate should have Bachelor Degree in related field. Law degree is preferred. Should have previous line management experience and strong people management skills. Previous multi-line claims supervisory experience is needed. Previous experience driving change to develop a function is required. Ability to clarify complex processes concisely is needed. Should have excellent ve! rbal and written communication skills - ability to interface with individuals and groups at all levels. Able to work autonomously within procedural guidelines. Strong working IT skills are required. International experience is desirable.
