Argonaut Insurance Company, member Argo Group currently has a challenging opportunity for a Workers Compensation Claims Supervisor to be located in Irvi! ng, Texas . The primary purpose of this position is to successfully manage a team of Indemnity Workers’ Compensation Claims professionals to provide superb claims results for our clients.
Responsibilities
Develop and lead a team of workers’ compensation adjusters who have accountability for customers in the southern United States..
Provide direction, leadership and training to in-house claims professionals.
Manage vendor relations to develop optimum case outcomes, cost performance, and measurement criteria.
Establish working relationships with diverse Business Unit leaders on claims related issues, including strategic loss reduction initiatives.
Establish, refine and evolve best-in-class claim management program operating characteristics, measurement criteria, and meaningful metrics benchmarking.
Provide advice and oversight into claim disposition strategies, workers compensation statutes, managed care techn! iques, and tort law.
Qualifications
Preferab! ly 5 years prior experience working in Claims Supervisory capacity.
Must be familiar with the following jurisdictions: Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas
Bachelor’s degree required. Relevant and multiple industry designations can substitute instead.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills. The ability to read and write English fluently is required. The ability to read and write Spanish fluently is strongly preferred but not required.
Strong litigation management skills.
Ability to travel, sometimes overnight, approximately 10% of the time.
The successful candidate will also:
Have an aptitude for working with complex medical, legal and rehabilitation issues, while staying focused on managing those issues to the appropriate financial outcome.
Have a collaborative orientation and ability! to work with multiple partners (insured, injured worker, doctors, rehabilitation experts, and attorneys).
Possess a real passion for improving results through proactive claim management.
