This position will handle Corporate Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and Wealth Management (WMG) loan documentation and closing related functions, and be involved in in! itial fundings and ongoing disbursements. Support team by providing a variety of due-diligence and documentation review functions. Review draft loan documents and address issues/concerns with attorneys, lenders and customers as needed. Remain up to date on all policies, procedures and training. Identify and address and/or elevate issues and exceptions with Manager. Mentor other staff members within the Funding Desk.
Key Responsibilities:
Review that all documents related to a Commercial, Industrial and Wealth Management loans are in compliance with federal, state, and BBVA Compass’ credit policy, before loans are closed.
Review and approve each document provided by the borrower
Carefully review and approve each document provided by Third Party Vendor reports
Perform Equity Injection analysis
Compare documents and discuss discrepancies with underwriter and loan officer for resolution. Closing and funding loans should mirror each other. Prepare and review loan closing package and coordinate sign! atures
Prepare electronic booking work package and perform post close review ensuring all documents were signed and not altered.
Ensure copies of loan documents are provided to borrower for loans not closed by a Title Company.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Legal Studies or an equivalent of 4 years of professional experience.
5 years in Commercial, Industrial and Wealth Management documentation and closing.
5 years within a financial institution and/or law firm with extensive experience working with large C&I and WMG credits.
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally to all levels within the organization to include peers and executive management.
Desirable:
Paralegal experience is a plus
A combination of experience in two or more of these areas is highly desired â€" legal, loan closing, loan administration, loan document! ation, loan review, audit or compliance.
Proven track record of in-depth review of all types of commercial loan documentation, along with extensive knowledge/experience in perfection of liens in accounts receivable, inventory, equipment, vehicles, negotiable securities, aircraft, ship mortgages, etc.
Knowledge of Letters of Credit, financial covenants, government entities, utilities, transportation, manufacturing, agricultural, Healthcare or bond financing
Detail Oriented. Must be able to identify loan documents and lien perfection documents
Ability to handle stress and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
Focus in accomplishing work assigned within a time frame
Must be able to manage high volume of documents and keep them organized.
