Monitor and prioritize work flow to ensure that all work is processed in a time! ly manner. Attend Court sessions and act as a liaison between the Court and other County departments, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and the general public as directed by District Clerk policy and management. Determine and assure proper procedures are followed as they affect the tasks required of the position. These jobs duties and responsibilities are to reflect all sections of the District Clerk’s Office including Civil, Criminal, and Family. It is not required to know or learn the duties of all sections but rather those applicable to an assigned section.

Essential Dut! ies and Responsibilities:
Maintains all case files for the District Courts. Trains in different Courts as work assignments are changed. Learns different procedures of each Court. Produces and issues all forms of warrants and processes to assure proper movement and appearance of parties and witnesses. Issues Orders of Sale, Executions, and Abstract of Judgments. Records the entry of returned service papers in a timely manner. Identifies and file marks all documents via mail, electronic filing, or in-person. Determines proper processing and distribution of paperwork/pleadings according to Texas Rules of Court, Texas Family Code, and Texas Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and all office policies. Conforms, processes, certifies, and distributes copies of all orders signed by the judge. Handles judgment, sentence, and commitments. Inputs and updates computer information on legal documents filed, changes in the Attorney database, status of parties and cases, and se! rvice paper tracking. Generates monthly report of court case activity to be sent to Austin. Assumes Administrative Clerk and Court Coordinator phone and administrative duties in their absence. Enters information on docket sheets; sets, resets and cancel hearings; notifies attorneys and parties of trial; and assists the judge in the Court Coordinator’s absence. Provides general guidelines and case information to attorneys, prose litigants, and the general public. Operates scanner to produce electronic images for recording court minutes and to preserve the courts records. Updates dismissal dockets, process cost bills, and releases of judgments when paid. Reviews and approves all bonds to confirm that they comply with court orders and the civil statutes. Determines when to prepare a certificate of proceeding and makes computer entries to notify all necessary agencies of court action. Determines what law enforcement agencies, schools, and day care centers to notify in family ! violence cases and notify immediately by fax and mail. Assembles jury s! trikes for State and Defense attorneys to formulate a list of jurors to be seated and sworn and to prevent a mistrial based on improper jury selections. Performs assigned duties necessary to take and process applications for United States passports as directed by management. Attends court sessions to determine and assure that proper procedures are being followed in processing actions that affect District Court cases. Responsible for the filing and collection of monies on all new suits, motions, bonds, ingoing and outgoing transferred cases, writs, issuance and service of process. Balances cash drawer and makes daily deposit. Processes electronically filed cases and pleadings for Civil, Family, Criminal, and Juvenile sections. This includes verifying documents, debiting customers accounts, preparing return receipts, and processing the appropriate documents. Notifies the respective Court Clerks when E-File documents are completed. Responsible for tracking, ordering and return! ing closed court files from the Record Center and District Clerk Records departments. Assists the public with looking up disposed records. Performs all related clerical duties. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Associate’s degree or equivalent.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a related field is required.
Knowledge of personal computers and word processing is preferred.
Must take and pass typing test of 35 wpm. *

Tarrant Coun! ty will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.
