I am seeking a part-time Legal Assistant to assist me in my law office. I have a solo practice in North Dallas near 635 and Coit.
I need someone who is experienced with legal work and in a law office. I need someone who has a professional demeanor. Someone with reliable transportation and who is seeking to work in the legal field. The majority of clients are Spanish speaking, so being fully bilingual in Spanish is extremely important.
Currently, the average hours will be between 25-30 hours per week during normal business hours. The individual I seek should paralegal or legal assistant experience.
The job duties will include assisting the Attorney with the following:
Client communications
Office filing documents
E-filing
Case management
Communication with 3rd party offices such as insurance adjusters, court personnel, etc.
General office and marketing duties
Assisting me (the attorney) with file/case preparation, legal research, public speaking, and occasionally helping me at court
State and Federal case research
REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES:
1-3 years experience in a law office
Paralegal Certificate preferred
FLUENT IN SPANISH (READING, WRITING, AND SPEAKING).
Experience using Lexis and Westlaw legal research system
E-Filing experience with State and Federal Courts
Legal research of State and Federal case law
Legal writing: Memorandum of law, internal/external office memos, client letters, case analysis, memorandums, etc.
The position is Part-Time.
